Well the weekend flew by very quickly. The older the kids get the busier our lives become. We watched our friends three girls over the weekend so they could go the Las Vegas. On Friday night we went to the park for soccer practice. The kids not involved in the practice had fun just running around and playing. After the practice we took all the kids over to the football game. It was funny because Sariah really wanted the Wildcat to come and see her, so a friend of ours went and got him. Upon his arrival Sariah got scared because he was too big. The kids loved being at the football game and Sariah loved dancing to the music at half time.
We woke up early Saturday morning to get to the park for the first scrimmage game of the day. We ended up being at the park a total of six hours for all three games. It was nice because two of their three girls are on the same teams as our boys, their dad is Nathan's assistant coach for both teams. We came home and collapsed for the rest of the day.
Of course Sunday's are my hardest day of the week for me, Nathan is gone from the house for about ten hours doing church work. The kids and I came home from church and watched movies and played the board game pay day. Timothy went to a fireside in the evening because an area authority seventy had come to speak to the youth. This also meant that Nathan had an extra meeting with the visitor as well. I think by the time late evening came around we were all ready for bed so we would be ready for Monday.

Scarecrow Grandparents!!
I was kind of sad because Sariah cried a bunch when her Grandparents left. If you know Sariah and her cute imagination she was soon happy when she discovered that she could play with the decoration scarecrows and pretend they were Grandpa and Grandma. I was fine until I saw her walking down the hall with a marker. If you can imagine what she wanted to do you would be laughing. She was ready to draw a beard on the tall one so he looked like her Grandpa. She has been playing with them all week. I have to say she uses her imagination to make sad things happy. She sure is a special little butterfly girl!!

Busy Week!!
This last week has been very busy. I have still had no time to update the blog with pictures and details from our trip. I will get to do that when things slow down. We were finally able to go out and celebrate our anniversary. I took Nathan to Buffalo wild wings for his first time, he loved it. He could watch four different sports at the same time and eat lots of food. I then took him to old navy and made him get new clothes. As many of you know Nathan hates to spend money on himself. It took a while to talk him into five pairs of pants, he needed. We got back late and arrived home to Allen and Sandy visiting for the weekend. It is a difficult transition to have people in your home and visiting when they refused to have contact with you for three years and have very uncertain and sporadic contact in the present. Our oldest is constantly worried that when they leave they may never return this applys to his Aunt, Uncle and cousins that have visited. We always hope and pray as a family that things have changed and that they no longer desire to hurt us. It hurts Nathan that they don't call and talk to him after apologizing and claiming they have changed.
We woke up Saturday morning to the start of a very busy weekend. The kids had soccer tryouts most of the morning. Then in the afternoon Nathan had to go and draft both of his teams. He then met us at a Birthday swimming party in the evening. I then had to come home and prepare the talk that I kept not wanting to plan I was up until nearly 2am trying to plan and make sense of it. I actually learned a lot in my studying. We should not judge others because we don't know where they have been or how their heart is. We have struggled with this for eight years, Nathan's family has judged who we are, our motives, our spirituality and our marriage and as a result he lost all his family. He still feels like he has no family. This is a sad place to be. I think the next time we want to judge we should stop and think about times we have been judged and how that made us feel. We successfully gave our talks in church on Sunday. I was feeling bad on Sunday because I missed both of my family reunions the last two weeks. It is times like this I feel very home sick. I am really hoping that things are fixed and made right so Nathan can go to his family reunion in November as it is closer and I really think he needs to know his family loves him.
I woke up Monday morning with a horrible migraine headache and was still quite dizzy from the night before. I was able to get the kids off to school and Allen and Sandy on their way. I spent the rest of the day cleaning and putting my house back together. The rest of the week has flown by between guitar lessons, piano lessons, dance class, soccer practice, scouts,school meetings, church responsibilities, Mom stuff and house work. I sometimes wonder where time goes. I am so grateful to all of my kids and to a wonderful husband who help out so much.

I was able to get Samuel to the dentist today. We put sealants on his teeth. My kids have done well to have minimal cavities. I think we have 3 total between all of them!! I just got done cutting out 209 saved up box tops for the elementary school. We have another long and busy week ahead of us!! The kids are growing up to fast and seem to be too busy!! I guess it is less time to get in trouble!!

Celebrating 14 years of Marriage!!

I wish I could say that the day started out wonderful, but I can't. We had a rough night last night shedding tears once again over Nathan's family. I was hoping by morning we would be good, but woke up to find both Nathan and Timothy crying. I have decided that there are certain people in life who think that the way they treat others doesn't matter. I think this time of year is especially sad for Nathan because he has had to fight against, even lose his family because they have tried to come between us and ruin our marriage. Enough of the negative and on to the positive. I am going to give a very quick snap shot of some of the things that have happened over the last 14 years. We have moved 7 times, earned 3 college degrees between the two of us, We have had three children in three different counties, Nathan has had three teaching jobs, we bought a home, we've had 6 cars, I survived a septic infection, We have gone to Mexico and Canada, We have also seen and traveled lots of the U.S, but most important we have remained together despite the forces against us. I have to say most would say we were too young to marry. I say to them that if you truly love it doesn't matter. I was just 19 and Nathan was 23. I can honestly say it is the best decision I have ever made. I don't think many girls wake up every week day morning for 14 years to find a love note. I estimate that I have received over 4200 love notes in the last 14 years. I think that we complete each other. I think that in all marriages you have hard times but the good times make the bad times look small. I want to thank all our good friends and my family who have helped us through the last 8 years. You know who you are and we couldn't ask for better people in our lives. I want to end with a quote:

It's kind of funny how 3 kids and 14 years later things become almost impossible to celebrate your anniversary. Timothy decided to wait until the last minute to announce he had an open house that we needed to be at with him at the school. Samuel needed to be at cub scouts and was taking a friend from school with him and as usual Sariah was clinging to my leg. So the idea of even running through a drive-up for even 5 minutes of time together was out of the question. I never finished Nathan's card and thought we were'nt getting eachother presents, so I was shocked when Nathan brought me home flowers. I of course felt guilty so out of guilt agreed when he asked me to speak with him at church on Sunday. Guilt is never a good thing. I am sure when we look back on this day it will be very funny, as for right now I am just a worn out tired mom of three!!

I was happy that I was able to meet some good friends for lunch in Joshua Tree this week. We enjoyed talking and the food was yummy. I am glad that I have been blessed with good friends or are always there for me!!

Trip to Disneyland!!

As I mentioned before we were able to spend Labor day at Disneyland. We went to Anaheim the night before to make the day at Disneyland not so long. We woke up early to get CA Adventure right when it opened so the kids could go on the new cars ride. That ended up not working, after almost an hour in line they announced that the ride had broken down and it would be for some time. They asked everyone to leave and go to other attractions in the park. The kids were disappointed, and because of the extreme popularity of the ride they didn't even offer a pass to come back later. We made the best of it and enjoyed going on other rides as an entire family. It was great because Sariah is now tall enough to go on all but four ride between the two parks. I think she liked Big thunder mountain railroad the best. She kept asking to go on the choo choo train again. She was uncertain about Splash mountain and kept repeating "ME WET", with it being 90 degrees and humid you would think she would have liked being wet. It was funny because she got off space mountain with a fake cry repeating "ME SCARED". She loved seeing Eeyore and Winnie the Pooh. I would say the day was a success, we made it home in two hours flat, and went to some friends house that evening. The kids even had energy to swim after the long day. Today will be a busy one, Sariah has speech and dance and Samuel has Guitar lessons. And I have to get this house back together after the long weekend.

Fun with Friends!!

We had a great start to the long weekend today. We spent the morning getting the house clean. I then was able to get caught up on the bills, since it is the first of the month. We then had our home teacher over. He spent a bunch of time with Timothy charting a course for him to be on track to become an eagle scout. We are so glad he is helping, he has five sons and all recieved their eagles so he is a great resourse. We were able to spend the evening with some good friends here in town. We went bowling and then out for pizza. We are so lucky to have so many good friends who are like family to us. We are now going to pack and get ready for five hours of church tommorow and traveling to Disneyland.

We made it through a full first week of school. The kids loved their teachers and had a very enjoyable great week. Sariah and I spent Friday morning helping a lady from our church run her errands and do her shopping, Sariah was very helpful. The kids came home and were excited to know it was the weekend!! I decided to take Sariah with me to drop Nathan off for a meeting he had at the school to train the AVID tutors. While he was in the meeting I took Sariah with me to about five homes delivering baby gifts and cheerful cards. At one of the houses the baby girl is only a week old and so adorable. It was kind of sad for me because she was wearing the exact same outfit Sariah wore her first week home and she had the dark hair as well. So I am holding this baby and watching my little grown up blond girl right in front of me. I thought I would never say this, but I am sad Sariah has grown up on us. I love the opportunity I have to help all my fellow sisters when they are having babies. It has been such a great experience, I have really been able to help some of them who just need to talk, and I can be very empathetic. After picking Nathan up we decided to go to the football game with the kids. We took dinner with us and had a great time even though we won 56-0. The kids had fun playing with some new friends. It was funny because Timothy's personal finance teacher was there so I was able to meet him and his wife. I was excited that he is using the Dave Ramsey curriculum. I spent the whole time talking to his wife about gardening, canning, coupon clipping, shopping around and saving money. We hit it off and the kids had fun with their kids. I am looking forward to a fun weekend at DISNEYLAND!!!!!
