Day 23 - Baltimore area and Orioles Park at Camden Yards

(8/1) Unfortunately, Solinda's sickness got worse and we wanted to spend some quality time together with Brad and Jen.  We let everyone sleep in, went to a late breakfast and then headed across the street to a nearby college ball field.  We played catch in the outfield for about 30 minutes (until we were drenched) while Jen walked before coming back to clean up.

We then woke Solinda up, and all went out to the mall to get her some cold medications and then some lunch to go, came back to the hotel and relaxed.  Our food was good and we chose to sit down together and play cards.  Nathan napped and we then all left at 3 to head on the shuttle over to the light rail line at the airport.

Our destination was Camden Yards and the naval ship yards before the game.  Unfortunately, a downpour hit for over one hour, and we got stuck at the station for the entire time as Brad had assured us that there would be no rain and we had taken the umbrellas and ponchos out of the backpack.

The rain finally ended after 5 and we headed into the stadium from center field.  Entry was very easy and we were all excited to Jonathan Schoop T-shirts.  Sam was excited since Schoop is on his Continental League team and stated very emphatically that Orioles Park is number 1!

Our seats were on the second level under the overhang and we got to watch the entire grounds crew work for over one hour as they removed and cleaned the infield tarp.  The game was cooler at the beginning and the temperature and humidity rose until the end.  We ended up moving to the top for the last 2 innings for air movement.  The Orioles easily beat the visiting Kansas City Royals and Jen correctly picked the score, while Brad was happy to have correctly guessed all 6 winners.

The light rail ran efficiently and we got home and into bed at midnight.
