(7/10-7/12)After leaving 29 Palms at 6:30 am on Monday, July 10th - we all realized our great adventure had begun. With stops in Kelso, CA and Saint George, UT we made great time to Cedar City in order to see our friends Daniel and Bonnie Nielson and their kids - Asia, Jacob, Josh and Russell. We spent over an hour with them catching up on old times before departing. We made good time and arrived in Payson after 5 pm, unloaded and headed to see family.
Spring Lake Park was the venue of our get-together with all of Solinda's living siblings. The event was centered around a 25-year-old letter from their mother Linda written to them as part of a time capsule. We then enjoyed the park and water toys in Spring Lake.
Tuesday was spent on the road up to the University of Utah for an almost 3-hour campus tour. We went with cousin Clarissa who is also going to be a senior this year along with Tim. He enjoyed the tour and learned "everything he heard" in his own words. We stopped by our brother-in-law's work at Big O Tires in Sandy so Clarissa could drive the car back down to Lehi.
Once in Lehi, we picked up Sam and Sariah from their Aunt Emily's home (they were there all day outside of 2 7-11 runs for Slurpees). We stopped in Provo at the Town Centre Mall and ate dinner at Winger's so we could watch about half of the All-Star Game.
Wednesday was spent with cousins Josh and Maggie for most of the day. Solinda loved sitting with her Grandma Thora Behling for 4 hours. She had special time and coversation with her free from kids or any worries. We picked her up and headed over to Tiffany's for quesadillas and watermelon for lunch. We then went up to Twin Falls above Payson Canyon and below Maple Lake on a hike with Jared and Paige along with Tiffany, Hannah, Benson and Charlotte (besides Josh and Maggie). We finished with dinner at the Payson Park and several good-byes before an early bedtime.
