Day 7 - Oregon, OH to Cicero, NY

(7/16) Today was our first day under 500 miles on the vacation and the first time in 3 days we did not change a time zone, so we let everyone sleep in until 8:30 and ended up leaving the hotel near Toledo around 9:30.

We traveled about an hour and a half to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, just south of Cleveland to see the waterfalls and try some hikes.  Although it cost us over an hour, we enjoyed a small hike and the scenery in the woods.  Interestingly, the park was established in 1974 and has many private residences in it with nice yards and older homes.

After that adventure, we made our way up to North Madison, Ohio right by Lake Erie for a nice lunch and then headed northeast.  We enjoyed the view of Lake Erie from the hills and lots of grapes in Wine Country before heading into Buffalo and then east to the Syracuse area.  The weather has been beautiful over the last 3 days with temperatures ranging from 65 to 83 degrees throughout all of the states.

We are grateful to be here and looking forwards to smaller daily distances now with more time to stop and enjoy the sights and sounds of the northeast.
