Well, everyone rolled out of bed bright and early at 6 am yesterday morning and ate a quick breakfast before heading up Interstate 4 to the attractions. We got great parking and got through the entry gate to the Islands of Adventure theme park around 8:10...we then exploded back to Harry Potter's Hogsmead for The Forbidden Journey and then Flight of the Hippogriff. We figured out on the first ride that snacks needed to be divided up for the bags to fit in the lockers. Nathan got overwhelmed trying to stuff 2 into one locker in the darkness and transfer, so he just waited and then used a bag swap pass to go again with the boys. The boys, Brad and Jennifer then took on the red (easy) Dragon Challenge on our way out.
We then boarded the Hogwarts Express to Universal Orlando Resort. The 5 of us went into "Disaster" for the making of a movie. Sariah was the child star and was recorded leaping in a blue raincoat and then she took out "The Rock" in the movie - which was hilarious! Men in Black - Aliens Attack was next and everyone but Solinda went on. Even Sariah had a good time. Many of us had no idea what we were shooting at.
We headed back into Diagon Alley to partake of a sumptuous feast at the Leaky Cauldron. Highlights included the frozen butter beer, fish and chips, bangers and mash, split pea soup, cottage pie, and specialty chicken sandwich. Minions was after lunch since Sariah was unable to get on Dragon Challenge in the morning and they gave us a front-of-the-line pass.
We then trekked back to Fievel's Playland and everyone got their heads wet and the little enjoyed a big water slide in there and then we all hopped on Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster before cooling off and settling down at the Animal Actors on Location show, which featured a pig, dogs, cats, parrots, pigeons, one otter, one skunk and more.
Favorites for the day were as follows: Tim - Forbidden Journey, Sam - Dragon Challenge, Sariah - Minions, Brad - Men in Black, Jennifer - Forbidden Journey, Solinda - Forbidden Journey, Nathan - Animal Actors on Location.
Diagon Alley was our last stop where Jennifer had a wand choose her for purchase...we toured some stores after a 15-minute period. We then limped all the way out of the parks to parking, which we reached around 5 pm before heading to the resort. Brad led us around on the Turnpike to the west and then we headed south before purchasing food for dinner by the resort. We had a nice pasta meal prepared by Jen at the resort and everyone got to bed by 10...
