After sleeping in from the long baseball game and post-midnight arrival back at the hotel, everyone slept in, got down to breakfast and then headed over to the Capitol building for the state of Georgia. Nathan had to keep the car idling by the curb at a stop light (due to no parking) while Brad jumped out and ran got some pictures with various cameras.
It was about 10:20 when we got on the road and up to full speed. Our first stop was about an hour and a half later for a tank up of cheap gas and 10 fresh Georgia peaches. They were very delicious and took us until the next morning to finish off.
Our next stop was the home of Mike and Annamarie Pruitt, on the west side of the rural Georgia town of Leesburg. They live in a 5,000-square foot home and are still moving in. It has mostly wood floors downstairs. Lots of bedrooms and a neat upstairs make their kids love it. Sariah loved playing with Elena and Julianna while Sam had a great time with Jonah and Tim listened in on our adult conversations. Unfortunately, Mike was called into work at 1:00 and we got there about 1:20. Annamarie was kind enough to put together a lunch of pasta, tamale pie and fresh fruits and veggies which we were very grateful. We went outside and had a great picture time before heading back about 30 miles east to the I-75.

Heading south, we got some rain as we headed into the drought-ridden state of Florida. We decided to pull off for some great southern food in the town of Ocala. Brad hunted down the restaurant known as Sonny's - open since 1968. Nathan and Solinda got some sandwiches and everyone else devoured ribs. Great food, a nice town, and beautiful evening are our memories of the town.
Lastly, we headed down to Kissimmee, on the southwest side of Orlando, to a posh version of Quality Inns. We were grateful to get 2 rooms the day of as we made a cancellation and stopped at least an hour and a half further north. We still arrived around 9 pm. It should be noted the last hour was all the Florida Turnpike and we covered very close to 500 miles on the day, which is our biggest of the summer.
